The Bolsover Swing Bridge at KM 282 is one of two swing bridges near Bolsover on the Trent Canal between Canal Lake and Lake Simcoe. At 5 ft closed clearance, it must open for all cruising vessels. This section of the canal descends through five locks, lowering vessels a total of about 73 ft toward Lake Simcoe.

There are two swing bridges near Bolsover (this one at KM 282 and Boundary Road at KM 284.5) — both have the same 5 ft closed clearance. A fixed bridge near KM 287 has 22 ft clearance. Watch for overhead power cables throughout this section — the lowest is 42 ft at the Lake Simcoe canal entrance.
