Overview — Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge

The Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge is one of the most iconic structures on the TSW, located close east of Bobcaygeon Lock in the heart of this charming Kawartha Lakes village. At 11 ft closed clearance, it is the tallest swing bridge on the waterway — most houseboats are designed to pass under it without opening. The lock at Bobcaygeon is one of the busiest on the entire waterway.

Located close east of Bobcaygeon Lock (Lock 32) in the heart of the village. A rock with 3 ft depth lies 80 ft SW of the port hand daybeacon at the west entrance. Approach with caution.

🧤 Captain’s Bridge Notes

At 11 ft closed, many cruising vessels including most houseboats can pass under without opening. However, verify your vessel's actual air draft before committing — approach with caution and watch for the flashing red lights at mid-channel. A submerged rock with only 3 ft over it lies 80 ft SW of the port hand daybeacon at the west entrance. Bobcaygeon village has full services within steps of the lock.
