Located on the Otonabee River between Nassau Mills Lock (Lock 22) and Douro Lock (Lock 24), in the Peterborough-to-Lakefield section of the waterway.
The channel between Locks 21 and 26 passes through some of the most scenic canal country on the TSW. About 3.2 km from the Peterborough Lift Lock there is a 1.6 km stretch of foul ground with weeds and rocks — stay in the marked channel.
Strong cross currents may be encountered at the southern approaches to Nassau Mills Lock. Narrow concrete-walled channel at Nassau (45 ft wide, 6 ft deep).
The Peterborough-to-Lakefield section has five locks and a total lift of about 64 ft over 14.4 km. The river is narrow and picturesque through this reach.
