Blue Hole is a well-protected anchorage tucked behind Hickory Island in the Blind Channel of the Trent River. Widely considered one of the best anchorages on the entire lower canal section, this intimate spot offers 8 to 12 feet of water with excellent all-around island protection.
Depart the main channel opposite green T135 and head for 12 feet of water off red T138 in Blind Channel. Enter and leave via the upstream end to avoid shallower water and weeds at the downstream end. This is a 1-2 boat anchorage only.

Scenic notes: Secluded island anchorage with excellent fishing at dawn and dusk.
This is the anchorage veterans of the lower Trent talk about. The island wraps around you and the channel traffic disappears. Critical detail: use the upstream entrance only — the downstream end is shallow and choked with weeds. Two boats max, and that's generous. If someone's already here, your backup is Green Acres or German Landing in Percy Reach.
Shallow and weedy at downstream end. Enter and exit via upstream end only. Tight entry for larger vessels.
