Overview — Hagues Reach — Lock 11

Hagues Reach is one of the quieter anchorages on the Trent River section of the Trent-Severn Waterway, tucked into the rural stretch between Lock 10 (Hagues Reach) and Lock 11/12 (Ranney Falls) at Mile Marker 28.1. Good holding in 9 feet or more with all-around protection makes this a reliable overnight stop. The area is genuinely isolated — no houses, no marinas, just farmland and forest on both banks. Lock 10 sits immediately adjacent, and its restrooms and showers are available to boaters, making this a rare combination of wilderness feel with basic facilities within walking distance.

🧤 Captain’s Anchorage Notes

This is a set-it-and-forget-it anchorage. The 9-foot depth and good holding mean you can drop the hook with confidence and sleep well. The river here runs through the Percy Reach area, which experienced boaters on the TSW consider some of the best cruising ground on the lower system. Lock 10 is a quiet, solitary station. If you need to stretch your legs, the suspension bridge near Ranney Falls (Lock 11/12) connects to Ferris Provincial Park. Campbellford with its full range of services is a short distance upstream.
