About this log. The Captain’s Log covers waterway news, navigation notes and seasonal write-ups alongside a daily conditions report. Data in the conditions entries comes from Environment and Climate Change Canada under the Open Government Licence — Canada (weather, marine and hydrometric), the Parks Canada lockstation page (lock and bridge status), and the Canadian Coast Guard (navigational warnings). Water gauge readings are on assumed datum and are not chart datum — only the deviation from a gauge’s own monthly average is meaningful. This log is not an official publication and is not a substitute for current charts and official notices.
