Overview — Otonabee River Entrance

The only good all-weather anchorage in the Otonabee River entrance area. Leave the waterway channel very close to the south side of Marker C-5 and anchor in the crook of the deep water channel in 6 to 14 feet.

Do NOT attempt to anchor in the cove a mile and a quarter further toward Peterborough behind Marker 7 — it is crowded with homes and boats and is not suitable.

🧤 Captain’s Anchorage Notes

If it's getting late and you don't want to push on 20 miles to Peterborough, this is your spot. Good depth range, protected positioning. Consider stopping at Gores Landing instead if you want a marina — Coxies Cove has transient space and a good restaurant.
