The lake is shallower than other Kawarthas with 8+ feet in the main areas. Expect weed beards on your anchor — this is standard for Buckhorn.

🧤 Captain’s Anchorage Notes

Buckhorn is the halfway point on the TSW and the lock walls fill fast. The east shore bays (Mile 122 area) are your overflow options. Shallower water and persistent weeds are the tradeoffs for a quiet night. Buckhorn itself has everything you need within walking distance.
