Clear Lake offers three good bay anchorages near Lock 27 (Youngs Point): Fiddlers Bay with good southerly wind protection in 11-12 feet, plus MacKensie Bay and Cassidy Bay as alternatives.
North of Hannahs Rock the lake becomes treacherous with islands, rocks and shoals. Keep to the marked channel without local knowledge.

Nearest provisioning: Youngs Point — Lockside Trading Company, Lock 27 Tap & Grill
Fiddlers Bay is the go-to here for southerly weather. The lack of speed zones until marker C177 means you'll get wake during the day, so set your hook accordingly. The Lock 27 Tap & Grill is a personal favourite — well worth a stop if you're tying up at Youngs Point. The marina driveway nearby is also a good spot to stretch the legs of a large dog — a practical detail that doesn't make it into most guides but matters when you're travelling with a big animal aboard.
North of Hannahs Rock, Clear Lake is encumbered with numerous islands, rocks and shoals. A boater without local knowledge should keep to the main channel (CHS CEN309 §4-121). No restricted speed zones until green C177.
