Peterborough Marina — A favourite Great Loop stop with full fuel services and easy access to downtown Peterborough. The Peterborough Lift Lock (Lock 21) — the world's highest hydraulic lift lock — is just upstream.
Peterborough Marina is a municipal marina operated by the City of Peterborough, located in the heart of downtown on Little Lake at the centre of one of Canada's premier recreational regions. With 100 slips accommodating vessels to 70 feet and full fuel services, it is the primary marina for the Peterborough area and one of the most popular Great Looper stops on the entire TSW. The world-famous Peterborough Lift Lock (Lock 21) — the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world — is just upstream.

Approach via the Otonabee River into Little Lake. Strong current at the fuel dock and slips — take your time on approach. Can be weedy in fairways but depths are adequate. The marina staff are VHF-attentive and will often spot incoming vessels and hail first.

Peterborough Marina sits at Mile 89.4 on the TSW, at the gateway to the Kawartha Lakes region. The Peterborough Lift Lock (Lock 21), a National Historic Site and engineering marvel, is just upstream.
Peterborough Marina is a genuinely pleasant stop that most Loopers rate highly. The staff are friendly and efficient, the facilities are clean and modern, and downtown Peterborough is a proper city with everything you need within walking distance. The Lighthouse restaurant above the marina office has decent Mediterranean food with a view of Little Lake.
The current can be tricky at the fuel dock and in the fairways — this isn't a calm basin. Take your time, especially if you're in a sailboat or lighter vessel. The marina staff spotted us coming across the lake and hailed us on VHF before we called them, which is a nice touch.
Good fuel dock with both gas and diesel. Pricing is reasonable by TSW standards. The pump-out is a separate fee ($20 CAD range). Fill up here if you're heading into the Kawartha Lakes — fuel options get more spread out north of Peterborough.
Security is solid — each pier has a code-operated gate. Private shower/washroom pods are clean and well-maintained. Free laundry is a major plus. Downtown Peterborough is a 10-minute walk with No Frills grocery, restaurants, pubs, and the Silver Bean Cafe on the riverwalk.
